That were made between 2009 and 2012, they don’t have one part related to the MUTT There is some bad info online about these. They were built from scratch. Designed by Growler USA then the project was taken over by General Dynamics before full production started on the 300 units made.

They used them from 2009 until 2015. The M1161 and M1163 didn’t work out as they had planned. In 2016 they started using a UTV (side by side) that was beefed up for them while a new ITV (internally transportable vehicle) was being designed. The UTV’s are currently selling on Govplanet. I don’t know very much about the replacement trucks, I have seen a couple of videos about them while they were developing them.

That’s a good question…someone in either the Pentagon or in the USMC made a decision to cancel the program. The original cost was $203,000 per vehicle, maybe they were looking for a cheaper, disposable vehicle. I have never seen or heard the exact reason.

This one was built in 2012 for the USMC It was made to fit into a V-22 Osprey. It’s official designation it LSV Light Strike Variant It usually had a .50 cal mounted on a gun ring behind the rear seat over the rear “trunk” . It rode shotgun to a shorter version M1163 that towed a French 120 mm mortar system.

The whole transfer case is made in Germany, parts from Germany and Belgium. The trucks are built in England. Engines from Illinois, Hardox steel from Sweden, Transmission have German and French parts that I have seen as well.

Last week John Deere pulled apart a 310E dump because we were getting hydraulic oil in the axle. The brakes are built into the hubs on the one. The brakes were fine, just had a cracked line in the axle.

Yes the oil pump is constantly pumping as soon as the engine is started. Depending on what failed it can cost anywhere between $8000 to $15000 in parts plus labor. Just to reseal this one with no parts needed it was just over $1000

If you replaced every disc it would add another $5k or more

I was guessing 30k born and lived on farm and did all our own maintenance and fixes not sure where all that time came from back then.

@333mikeray back in 2006 we were too busy so we had the Cat dealer remove, rebuild and reinstall one they charged us $30k That was 18 years ago, I’m guessing in todays money that would be a $45+ bill

They all do but John Deere seems to be a lot more expensive to repair than Cat

I used to work for a company that sold helicopters. They were not on time with the deliveries for any of the airframes. They were fined at the cost of the all of the helicopters. They lost all money that would ever be made on the sale. The only reason to sell them for free was the parts that would be sold at extremely inflated prices for the next 30 years.

@@RasmussenEquipment yeah no kidding. We’ve only had to use like aftermarket metal seals in some occasions due to them not being available

I have thought of getting one, this video however was shot with my iPhone which is very rare of me to do. I usually use GoPro cameras and they have much better mics.

I hate working on benches Some of these units weigh over 3000 lbs. Way better on the plywood
